1. 研究目的与意义
When the prequel of Harry Potter series, Fantastic Beasts:The Crimes of Grindelwald, makes a box-office record recently, Harry Potter fever comes back again. Not only children, but also a great many adults are fascinated with the magical story, and there are always heated discussion on this series, but comments and opinions are extremely contradictory between different people. From my point of view, it is absolutely an influential book, and good effects are more than bad effects. I believe that a book that can be listed as best sellers in the world should have some distinguished specialities, and unreplaceable values. For example, as a wonderful memory of tremendous children in the world, Harry Potter series play an important role on children#8217;s growth. This paper aimed at digging out the educational value of this book, which have not been deeply researched.
The growth of the youngsters is an eternal topic around the world, especially in today#8217;s China, where two-child policy was carried out recently and there are more new-born children. As a result, how to raise a child and what education should the child have will be vital to every family. This paper is targeted at researches on the growth of young people in Harry Potter series, which can enlighten Chinese people on how to help young people grow healthily. Both parents and children will benefit from Harry Potter series, because they will give children some lessons of growth, and give parents a way to understand young people#8217;s mind.
From the perspective of a teenager, the view will be unique and the suggestions given will be closer to young people#8217;s psychology. Besides, adding an opinion from a young person into all the researches is just like infusing new blood, which may generate more creative ideas in Harry Potter series. In addition, I am also the one who has completed reading all the seven books in my childhood, and recently when I research on them, some new ideas strike me, thus I myself am the one who grow with Harry Potter, who has got numerous benefits from the story.

3. 国内外研究现状
Since the publishing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher#8217;s stone, the first book of Harry Potter series, the story of the boy with the scar by the British author, J. K. Rowling, has been popular among the whole world, which also leads to abundant researches on this series. The formal researches, as well as published discussions have different concerns in different time.
Early comments are almost praises. Right after the first book#8217;s publishing, Fraser Lindsey (1997) praised J.K. Rowling as an outstanding writer in the field of children#8217;s literature, and he thought that J. K. Rowling created an adventurous and thought-provoking story in a traditional way of narration, in Volumes of Choice for the Holidays. Besides, Charles Taylor (1999) published This Sorcery Isn''t Just for Kids on an online magazine called Salon, in which he said #8220;Harry Potter series are the few children#8217;s books that can cross to adults#8217; fiction.#8221; [2] And Charles (1999) also point out that #8220;readers can immediately feel that they are reading a classical work.#8221; [2] Although J. K. Rowling tells a story of children, there are not only complicated plot, but also abundant detail description and psychological depiction, and the length of the book is beyond children#8217;s literature. Moreover, the plot become more and more complicated, and even become very dark, which is definitely beyond children#8217;s ability of understanding.
However, when the fourth book came out, more people realize the big influence of Harry Potter, and some doubts and counterviews were emerged. Some people thought that Harry Potter series will not be classic works, and the success of this series only owed to its commercial exploitation. William Safire (2003) had a totally different view with Taylor, and points out that Harry Potter series are just #8220;simple children#8217;s literature#8221; and #8220;it#8217;s a waste of time for adults to read them.#8221; [3] Moreover, another famous critic, Jack Zipes (2001) thought that Harry Potter series relied on the market, which can hardly be regarded as real literature. Furthermore, Philip Hensher (2000) presented his view of culture infantile disease, and in his passage published on The Independent, he said #8220;What we need to worry is the tendency of infantization among adults, which lead to no interest to real classics.#8221; [1]
