3. 国内外研究现状

As Lu Xiangli(2006)referred in his paper that detective story, as a specific genre, can be traced back to the publication of Edgar Allan Poe#8217;s The Murders in the Rue Morgue in 1841, but actually, Arthur Conan Doyle, a professional detective novelist from England, is considered to be the father of detective stories. And Agatha Christie, who is regarded as the queen of crime, creates a golden age of British classic detective novels and reaches the highest position.

As a female writer, Agatha Christie''s works have simple female consciousness and characteristics. She disobeyed the traditional detective writing style, which is centered on male detectives who present the highest social status, on the contrary, she creates a new kind of detective novels which are different from the former ones and present her simple feminism. Nevertheless, she is not a total feminist. In the patriarchal society dominated by masculine discourse, feminist discourse has always been subjugated and influenced, including Agatha Christie#8217;s. As a result, we can recognize her contradictory feministic view.

Simple feministic view

We can recognize her idea of feminism in lots of her novels. According to Han xiu(2010), this is embodied in the detective image, which is weakening and softening. Before Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes, which is written by Conan Doyle, is a typical tough guy. His is calm, rational, strong, and good at using logic reasoning to solve cases. These novels are often centered on male detectives who can find the truth. While in Agatha#8217;s novels, women can also be the detectives or the criminals. In the former novels, women are often appeared as the victims because in the ancient society, people hold the view that women should be and must be good and meek, we can hardly see any female criminals, while in Agatha#8217;s works, women can also be cruel and scheming.
