3. 国内外研究现状
With the popularity ofcomics, many foreign comics need to be translated. In order to further researchcomics translation, the first question is what the comics translation is. Thedefinition of comic translation is found in the first book of comictranslation, Comics in Translation: An Overview (Zanettin, 2008). The editorZanettin summarizes two definitions of comic translation based on previousstudies: the first refers to the conversion between different comic symbolsystems, such as converting comics to written literature, movies, painting, music, sculptures, and other symbol systems. Another comic translation refersto the conversion of all symbols in comics, involving a series of processes, the translation of which may be changed from text, drawing, editing, typesetting, etc. which can be called 'repainting' of comics. Moreattention should be paid to non-verbal factors such as drawings and typography.
Generalcomic translation studies mainly focus in the study on the general characteristicsof comic translation(Ma Xikui, 2015), the study on the difficulties andstrategy in the procession of translation(Riitta Oittinen, 2000amp;2001), andthe study on translators, for example, what are the characteristics of thescanlationor and the official translator, whether there is a difference in thelevel of translation, what literacy the comic translator needs, and how thebackground of the translator affects the selection of the translation(Zanettin, 2008), etc.
Mostof these comic translation research only focuses on language conversion. Althoughsome mention of non-linguistic factors, such as Liu Yang''s suggestion thatattention should be paid to the impact of pictures on text translation(Liu Yang2015), it lacks of a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the important roleof non-verbal factors in translation.
