1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)
David Herbert Lawrence (1885 - 1950) is one of the outstanding representatives of Western modernist writers in the 20th century. His novels such as "Sons and Lovers", "The Rainbow", "Women in Love" and "Lady Chatterley's Lover" have always attracted much attention.
In China, the studies of Lawrence can be traced back to the 1930s. For example, Lin and Yu have written comments on "Lady Chatterley's Lover". Compared with the fate of this work, which has been banned several times in the Western, it was recognized to a great extent in China at first. From 1930s to 1980s, under the influence of various factors, Lawrence was gradually forgotten by Chinese readers. Lawrence has been introduced to China again since the 1980s, and his works have been translated into China one after another. During this period, Lawrence's research in China mainly focuses on communication and translation. In the 1990s, Lawrence's researches in China appeared a prosperous situation, monographs and a large number of research papers. Among them, it is worth noting that Feng(1995) wrote the first biography of Lawrence in China. This biography, with Chinese characteristics, draws the image of Lawrence in the minds of domestic researchers by means of the combination of assessment and review. Lawrence's researches in this period is mainly limited to his novels, but it is different from the previous stage: the researchers are no longer limited to the study of the theme of "sex", but have adopted some new research methods. Such as semantics, novel stylistics, psychology, sociology and so on, provides a new reference for Lawrence's research. In the 21st century, Lawrence's research has appeared a new expansion, such as the study of Lawrence's philosophical social view, the study of Lawrence's problem style. In recent years, Chinese scholars began to pay attention to the symbiotic relationship between Lawrence and modernism. Some scholars began to pay attention to Lawrence's works from the perspective of ecology, and made some useful exploration. In foreign countries, researches on Lawrence had up to a certain broad and profound level. Besides various kinds of literary theories and monographs, Penguin and Nottingham University had been supporting studies on Lawrence for years. The Cambridge University had also published update materials on Lawrence's works as a faithful supporter. Many critics were interested in the biblical archetypes in Lawrence's novels. Wright(2000) composed his book D. H. Lawrence and The Bible, Wright wrote many chapters to illustrate the close relationship between Lawrence and The Bible. Since the 1950s, Lawrence has become one of the heated focuses that most popular western critics studied on. There were several representative works about Lawrence's biographies, such as Richard's Biography of D. H. Lawrence. John(2006) composed another Biography D. H. Lawrence: The Life of An Outsider.
Throughout the study of Lawrence's works at home and abroad, the evaluation and interpretation of short stories still lacks breadth and depth. The research on Lawrence's short stories is mostly from the perspectives of symbolism, feminism, post-colonialism and psychology. Few people study his stories from the perspective of family education. Therefore, this paper intends to analyze the influence on the growth of the protagonist Paul rely on the family education theory, on the basis of previous studies.
